Program Overview

BCRI’s Educational Outreach sessions are facilitated by historians and educators with deep expertise in Birmingham’s civil rights history. Each offering is designed to fit a range of settings from staff meetings and corporate trainings to conferences, retreats, and community events.

With multiple formats and topics to choose from, groups can tailor the experience to their needs and schedule.

Session Types

We offer three flexible formats to accommodate different group sizes, goals, and event types.

An expert-led talk with interactive Q&A, ideal for introducing a topic or anchoring a meeting or event.

Duration: 60 minutes

Best for speaking engagements, staff meetings, lunch & learns

A more in-depth learning experience that includes 2–3 activities focused on application, skill-building, and group dialogue.

Duration: 90 minutes

Best for conferences, retreats, professional development
