The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute reserves the right to deny the sale of any item(s) that do not meet community standards or align with the values of the Institution. Vendors may not use the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute name or logo on merchandise or products of any kind. Alcoholic beverages may not be sold during this event.
Setup, Operations & Breakdown
Food Vendors
Food vendors must comply with all applicable City of Birmingham, Jefferson County Department of Health, and Birmingham Fire Department requirements and regulations.
Food vendors must arrive by 10:00 AM for lineup. Placement assistance will begin at 10:30 AM, and mandatory fire inspections will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. Food trucks must remain in their assigned spaces until authorized by BCRI staff. Load-out will begin at 8:00 PM after barricades have been removed.
Merchandise Vendors
Merchandise vendors will receive a space assignment during the week of June 1, 2026, and will be escorted to their designated area after checking in at the Merchandise Vendor Table.
Setup will take place from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM, and vendors must be ready to serve by 12:00 PM. BCRI will provide one 6-ft table and two chairs. Tents will not be provided. Vendors are encouraged not to sell products that may melt or spoil in outdoor heat conditions.
Breakdown will begin at 7:00 PM, and vendors are strongly encouraged not to break down prior to that time.
All Vendors
All setup must be completed before the event begins. Late setup will not be permitted.
Vendors are responsible for keeping their assigned areas clean and in good condition. All vending materials must be removed from the premises at the conclusion of the event.
Vendors may not drive stakes into asphalt, concrete, or grass areas.
Juneteenth Celebration will take place rain or shine.
Space Assignment & Cancellation
Vendor spaces are limited and assigned by BCRI. Vendor assignments will be communicated during the week of June 1, 2026.
Vendor fees are non-refundable after June 9, 2026. Failure to comply with event requirements, staff instructions, safety procedures, or applicable regulations may result in removal from the event without refund.
Sales Tax Responsibility
All vendors are responsible for reporting and paying all applicable city, county, and state sales taxes associated with sales made during this event, including:
4% City of Birmingham sales tax
2% Jefferson County sales tax
4% State of Alabama sales tax
Liability & Damages
Vendors assume responsibility for any damage caused to event property, grounds, equipment, or facilities resulting from their participation in the event.
The vendor releases and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, its officers, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from liability for property damage, loss, or personal injury arising from participation in the Juneteenth Celebration.
