Juneteenth 2025

June 14 + June 19

Recognized as the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, Juneteenth reminds us that the path to justice has always required courage, resilience, and collective action.

We invite you to join us for a week of events that celebrate Black culture, reflect on history, and nurture wellness in our community.

The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute will reopen on May 27, 2026 at noon.

This brief delayed opening will allow staff and vendors time to complete final preparations for safe public access to the building. Thank you again for your patience, support, and understanding throughout this process. We look forward to welcoming visitors back today.
