Bare Hands Launches The View From Here, Expanding Arts Education in Partnership with the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, a collaborative arts education initiative with the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, made possible through a City of Birmingham Community Arts Grant BIRMINGHAM, AL — Bare Hands announces the launch of The View From Here (TVFH), a free, community arts series that explores the power of perspective. Rooted in the belief that creativity lives in the everyday, the series invites participants to reflect on how we experience the world through color, culture, identity, and place — and to celebrate the extraordinary within the familiar. Taking place throughout 2026, The View From Here will feature multidisciplinary engagements, including visiting artists, community arts days with local artists, a pop-up porch performance, and a pop-up exhibition. Each activation is designed to meet people where they are — in shared spaces, on front porches, and within the rhythms of daily life — encouraging awareness, presence, and connection. The series opens with Celebration Without Borders, featuring visiting Gullah artist Sabreee, on Saturday, March 7, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute—in honor of Women’s History Month and highlighting Gullah/Geechee culture.
