Community of Readers: Honoring International Women’s Day at the BCRI

March 8, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute on Saturday, March 8, for a special Community of Readers event in recognition of International Women’s Day. This gathering will celebrate the voices of remarkable women through literature, reflection, and creative expression.

The event will feature:

  • What Would Harriet Do by Rita Collins – Live reading and book signing
  • Stacey’s Extraordinary Words by Stacey Abrams
  • Change Scenes, a Children’s Anthem by Amanda Gorman

Following the readings, attendees of all ages are invited to participate in arts and crafts activities, inspired by the powerful stories shared.

This event offers an opportunity to engage with literature that uplifts and inspires, fostering a deeper appreciation for the contributions of women in history, activism, and storytelling.

All are welcome to join this morning of reflection, storytelling, and community.
