School Field Trips

School field trips must be made through a K-12 school. Student pricing for grades 4-12 is $13. If your group consists of 25 people or more, you must book your visit in advance. BCRI requires that children and students are accompanied by an adult chaperone (includes teachers and parents) at all times. Chaperones should ensure that museum guidelines are followed during your tour to help us keep the BCRI nice for all of our visitors. These will be explained at the beginning of your tour. Grades K-3: 1 chaperone required per every 6 students Grades 4-12: 1 chaperone required per every 8 students Chaperone Discount Discounts for chaperones apply during the school year. For Jefferson County residents, required chaperones are free with additional chaperones at $13. For non-residents of Jefferson County, required chaperones are $13 with additional chaperones at $15. Chaperones Request Please be responsible for your group. BCRI staff/volunteers rely on you to keep your group together while visiting the museum. Encourage your students to learn. On tours, please invite your students to respond and ask questions. Please Note: Field trips are visits from school groups during the school year, using the dates of the Birmingham City Schools academic calendar. Daycares, summer camps, family reunions, and students that are not touring with a school are subject to the standard admission fee.
