Community of S.T.R.E.A.M.ers | Black Innovators and Inventors

February 14 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Community of S.T.R.E.A.Mers invites students to explore the contributions of Black inventors and innovators in science, technology, and the arts as part of Black History Month and America’s 250th anniversary.

Through hands-on activities and discussion, students will learn how Black innovation has shaped everyday life and why preserving these stories matters. Participants will create a personal mini time capsule and contribute to a collective BCRI time capsule commemorating America’s 250th year. Each student will also receive a book highlighting Black inventors and inventions.

The workshop will be led by Atarah Israel, creator and founder of Mrs. Izzy’s Storytime.
