Springtime Walks Through History (Every Saturday in April!)

FREE WALKING TOURS EVERY SATURDAY IN APRIL @ 10 AM

Join Birmingham Civil Rights Institute’s Historical Content Expert, Barry McNealy, each Saturday morning in April for a walk through history in the National Civil Rights Memorial District. This annual event sparked by the Alabama Tourism Department takes place at 27 different locations across the state. 

Rain or shine, meet at the Shuttlesworth statue in front of the BCRI to join! Dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and  tag us in your pictures and videos @bhamcivilrights!

The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute will reopen on May 27, 2026 at noon.
