Volunteers are a vital part of our society--and of BCRI!  In fact, our volunteers started their work the day our doors opened to the public in November 1992.  BCRI relies heavily on participants in the Volunteer Program to welcome and inform visitors and to assist with other areas of operation.

As a Volunteer, you will be a special part of the BCRI family.  We will keep you informed of events, operational changes, and other points of interest. Volunteers have regular monthly meetings and other special training activities that aid in developing one's knowledge of the Civil Rights Movement and of events that took place in Birmingham and around the nation and world.

It's easier to volunteer on-site if you live in the Birmingham, Alabama, area. However, we have opportunities for volunteers from around the country and the world. Just ask!

We look forward to working with you. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact LaQuita Singleton at 1-866-328-9696, ext. 204.
